When Do Pigeons Sleep

or The Place of the Other

The psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan has worked much of his life to determine a topology of the unconscious. Using such figures the Moebius strip or boroméeen node, he proposes a study of the place where man is defined and more particularly the place where he speaks. Where it speaks. The Subject of psychoanalysis or Freudian unconscious, manifested in the language and subsequently can not be defined completely so. There is always a part of him that escapes, an irreducible. The Other, for Lacan, is a prerequisite for the existence of a pure signifier subject, no Other, no subject. The Other is the place of deployment of speech.

My first explorations in improvised music, especially in the free jazz, led me to consider this notion of place in improvisation. First, I came to think that the idiom of jazz, improvisation, varied significantly depending on the place where it was played and by whom it was played. Apart from the various schools that have formed, there seemed still irreducible in the individual who was playing, which seemed strongly influenced by its origin, place of birth, language he spoke. Naturally, an interpreter is an emulator, but when addressing the idiom of jazz through free improvisation, something is bound to occur. Something that the individual can not escape that goes beyond technique and the Subject.

Thus, in addition to our language or our place of birth, physical location also plays an important role in the improvisation. Because the places are talking about. Through the musicians of course but also through the Other within us and in which we swim constantly. Many have lived recognize strange feelings when they were in very specific places. Impressions hardly verbalised. But for some, music can witness what is happening.

On the underrated album " Hell's Kitchen / Live from Soundscapes", there are two improvisations from Don Cherry to the interior of Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, recorded in 1978. In these parts pure creativity, Cherry plays with stalactites and flute. The first, stalactites only, is phenomenal, a work for percussion to the natural resonances of a distant world. More artists and composers have used natural places for providing facilities or provide sound performance using acoustic particular places. But here it seems to be faced with a musician who works on instinct and finally leaving the place to speak through him.

Even the amazing thing about the disc of Peter Brötzmann and Han Bennink "Schwarzwaldfahrt", recorded in 1977 when the two men met in the Black Forest (in the South-West Germany) in order to improvise their lives. Sinking at the heart of the forest to let the language speak through them: their instruments, the elements, their cries, animals ...

Closer to home, the Jewelled Antler Collective has recaptured this approach slightly aesthetic field recordings with the vagaries of nature at their disposal . One of my favorite record of the genus remains "Leaves " Australians Eugene Carchesio and Leighton Craig, released on Naturestrip few years ago. Really a disc that deserves a fragile beauty to be discovered.

But besides nature, there are places that are steeped in history and it is these that interest us now. German Oak is a German group that seems to have recorded very little with their first album in 1972. There have been few but reissued on CD label Flashback just done in vinyl for the first time, I believe. Many consider this record as the quintessential Krautrock and they are not wrong. Incredible drive, stored in a bunker Nazi World War II by four young musicians from the German post-war generations. The BBC documentary on the Krautrock enlighten us a little about the pervasive sense that instilled in young of the first postwar generation. Instead of any forcing, German Oak were appropriate history and place with titles like "Raid Over Dusseldorf", "Swastika Rising" and "The Third Reich". I do not know their ideological allegiance, I do not think being pro-Nazi, perhaps only of youth who do not wish to suffer the shame and humiliation of defeat by erasing part of their history. Moreover, the back of the disc it says:

"If We Were not born, We Could not Have Done this. So We dedicate this record to Our parents Which Had a bad time in World War 2.

As We Played Down There In The bunker Suddenly a strange atmosphere Began to work. The Ghosts of the past whispered.

There has-been fear, desperation, hope to aussi! Maybe You Will Feel
Such impressions by listening too carefully. "

Some parts are groovy (like above) but other times on this disc are much closer Kosmische rock improvisations with synths, electric guitar and a bit more deconstructed structures.

There is another disc, which it almost made my top 10 last year, recorded in the same circumstances or almost. This is the album "Song Well " of New Zealand Anthony Milton, better known as The Nether Dawn, released on the label Porter Records. This wonderful album was recorded in a bunker in New Zealand which had the function of defending the island against a possible invasion Tsarist early 20th century. Truly a beautiful album of guitar, inspired songs and drones ... a moment of weakness.

Chad: What is the social policy of the MPS?

The Liberal Party of Chad believes that good social policy
(for a country like Chad) should play a major role. It deter-
undermine many aspects of human life,
communities and many institutions. In financial terms
cial, social policy represents the largest budget item
households and public authorities. It accompanies
key moments of the journey into the lives of citizens of this country
.

After nineteen years in power, then what is the policy of social
MPS team? N'Djamena Why did he not made public
the structure and functioning of this vast system whose
Tcha-dians are both financiers, actors and beneficiaries? In
Liberal Party of Chad, we believe that for professional
professionals of social action and health, and many other actors
social action, this imperative is even more important
that their activity is closely dependent on developments and innovations
in different sectors of the socio-economic
and politics.

Good social policy is the basis of the fight against poverty
poverty. Chad is always pointed to as one of the world
country's poorest (but still pillaged, exploited and humiliated
by the same people who slander). Reclaiming Social Policy
worthy of the name is an invitation to police brutality.
Demonstrate for improved social living conditions

as discarded tools. That is, the social policy of the Government of Chad
whose hearts are hardened by the vanity of vanities

Brazilian Wax In Limerick For Men

PLT: For good governance in Chad

Good governance, like the sun, is that inundate
its light all the people of Chad . It should begin
by what we have at hand, that is to say a country where it all
recognize a society and a culture in which harmonious living harmoniously
Chadians, a street and a neighborhood inhabited by peaceful
cally citizens of this country. Schools, public
vocational training and health centers that provide education, training and nurturing
the elite of tomorrow. A true democracy is reflected in the organization
highway, rail, river or sea.
Finally, a true democracy is an argument (direction vector)
alleging true reflection of builders.

If these conditions are not met - and she is not in
non functional like Chad - all the arguments earlier
laughing, that is to say, the theoretical basis and experimental operation -
mental system will be flawed. Purify the waters of the river that runs through the city
will not help if the focus of the contamination is
at source. The main question that any type of human organization
arises, since the world began, is that of power. And
main problem is to identify the person who owns, check by what means he
got it, use it in fact the methods he uses
, and what are his ambitions.

Can we say that the development of good governance is abso-lutely
linked to economic development in Chad? Of course yes.
The purpose of the democratic project is to achieve sustainable human and economic
asking executives. It must allow the popu-lations
be able to meet their basic needs.
Good governance would lose its virtues unless accompanied
not of this dual development and then become a mere facade of democracy
(current model of Chad).
Conversely, a democracy that is accompanied by a release of
initiatives at local level, is a democracy that can lead to
development. Talk about a change in Chad, is evo-
Quer the arrival of new blood into the senior management of the country.
The current team in power does not seem to be the idea of a
establishment of democratic structures (position contrary to the Liberal Party
Chad) although democracy and good gover-nance
constitute the necessary and sufficient condition can
guarantee the country's economic development.

How To Do Deep Penetration

Shawn David McMillen: "Dead Friends" (Tompkins Sqaure, 2010) James Blackshaw

Sacrament. Everything stinks

death these days. That may be the coming of autumn, which instills this pervasive smell ... Although it is rather usual in the months of October and November that will arise.

hard to have the heart to the party and the disks that I mark the most recent times are usually glaucous. From its title, the latest album from Shawn McMillen takes me to reflect on loss and grief ... Often there is grief that do not involve people, but relationships, interposed persons ... these are often the grief that take us by surprise. Like a family where one parent is an alcoholic. If it stops its consumption (For the better), the rest of the family, or the system will have to readjust to the new entity takes place. Things have changed and you get used quickly to our woes. Marked mourning in these situations is a way to see the change, not to ignore the situation but to apprehend a new angle, with a good dose of realism. But this is not a blog of pop psychology and personal growth.

"Dead Friends" is a hard fall, but it is not a monochrome work, it displays many colors. I have not hooked immediately on the guitarist Shawn David McMillen. I had seen a show at Divan Orange under the Suoni two years ago opening for Tom Carter. His performance was honest, nothing more, but I still bought one of his albums. This record, I mentioned in these pages, entitled "Catfish" was quite a discovery. Released on Tompkins Square , a label that I associate with folk guitar altogether conventional, this album surprised me by his side more "noise" and the use of electronics.

This new release of McMillen's in the same vein as the previous one, a nice mix of folk and noise. Parts alternating between acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, banjo, violin .. Some parts are increased kalimba, played by Ralph White, who by this time comes to give a slightly exotic tinge to the whole. Found on some pieces of the song McMillen, sometimes with words, but generally have more vocalizations. The atmosphere is surprisingly dependent on changing parts. Some are clean, where there are overlapping guitar lines and other environments offer us more responsible, sounding a bit more dense. Still, despite the loss of his friends, McMillen manages to maintain a balance between interesting folk and experimental music.

Balance that I must find myself.

Social Justice and Democracy

Justice is a pillar for society, because justice is a virtue ethics. Justice does not punctual, but habit, attitude, consistency: a habit that, like any virtue, refers to the act of the person, although, normally, or bad, in case of deficit. It's when the habit is firmly rooted in the individual and the person that justice is hope, a hope made a set of expectations met in everyday life.
The democratization of politics is probably one of the most exciting projects of our time. It is a project that takes place in each world region, including in developing countries, who have experienced prolonged authoritarian political systems before does open again. However, democracy is reduced today to a multiparty electoral politics condensed from the experiences of some Western countries. Multiparty has, in turn, was the first item measure of "good governance". The result was the production of a single notion of democratic processes applied everywhere regardless of history, place or environment in which a set of technical criteria designed from western experiences narrowly defined and questionable . The champions of this view are so convinced that they have changed their version of democracy in a key policy conditionalities that are applied to developing countries of the South in their endless negotiations with international financial institutions, bilateral donors, private investors.
In building truly representative government, democracy can not flourish if it is not based on social justice, it being understood that in every political system, social justice is an integral part the articulation and exercise of citizenship. The dimensions of social justice that must be taken into account in building lasting democratic projects are numerous. They include basic social relations that underpin the economy and society, the social contract between state and society, the concerns of well-being of the majority population, the relationship between town and village, the peoples' human rights both as individuals and as communities, rights of minorities and citizens, women's rights, gender equality and the protection of children and vulnerable groups.

Democracy is a system of government. It informs us about how people's lives is ordered, how people interact with each other and how they perceive the state and its structures. Governance implies more than the state institutions. It also includes strategies, tactics and knowledge that inform political action. Many citizens have legitimate expectations that one of the dividends of democratic governance should be access to a wide range of social services. They also claim that the democratic state they helped to establish through their struggles is socially inclusive, accountable and representative.

Utorrewnt Blocked On School

: "All is Falling" (Young God Records, 2010)

Everything is collapsing. Lucretius, De Rerum Natura, spoke of clinamen atoms, that is to say changes altering their fall into the abyss, to the sensible world to exist.

If we must fall in order to exist, I also rarely exist in recent months.

However, in the fall we look for cues that cling, anchors that will hold us back if ever taking starts to slip.

When I say these disks that perform this function as the soundtrack of our lives, The last disc in James Blackshaw is one. It is also a disc that allows me to write and hold on to something, that elusive emotion that reminds me of my vulnerability to this human quality.

Blackshaw gives us a solemn work, full of emotion and beauty to the scene that opens the imagination which runs parallel to the frame of our lives. But when actors are in place, you never know what their actual roles.

This disc is intended as a culmination of the career of this unusual musician. "The Glass Bead Game " published last year had left a little on my hunger and did not seem entirely completed. On "All is Falling," Blackshaw is accompanied by Charlotte Glasson on fiddle, flute, alto saxophone, glockenspiel, Fran Bury, violin and vocals and Daniel Madavi cello. The emotional charge that usually raises the strings is the rendezvous. Blackshaw meanwhile arming of a twelve-string electric guitar, plays great piano, glockenspiel, percussion and a little voice also. A disc lyrical melodies captivating and rehearsals are well maintained. His references to minimalist composers are much more assumed than its previous album. His compositions are clear, and beautifully finished.

pieces forming the disc are not securities, they are only numbers 1 through 8. A long piece in eight movements for smooth sequences. In fact, the only pieces ending in silence or music cuts are parts 1, 6, 7 and 8, the final piece. The last piece allows the composer to get out of the frame of reference which we used to the guitar and piano tones in exploring more drones. Glissandos of Part 7 may therefor be seen as an alarm siren inviting us to listen to what follows.

Part 6 has particularly caught my attention. Only on this piece are the voices of Blackshaw and Bury. They do not sing, they count the rhythm part. In fact Bury account 1-2-3-4 and Blackshaw punctuates another rhythm on the drums which are supportive of the guitar. Anyone with experience of Gurdjieff sacred movements feel a certain familiarity with this way of counting, recalling the account of certain rhythmic movements when performed without music. But maybe it is me who feels the need too hold on to something ...
