Artistanbul Young Audiences, on the trail of Pierre Loti



The six painters Charente-Maritime (Oleron, Rochefort, La Rochelle) are back in France after having spent an unforgettable Eyüp / Istanbul, where they were artists in residence for 15 to 23 October. Accompanied by Lionel Serik - artistic coordinator, Bergagna Dominique Bar and Daniel (our two Oléron), Annabelle Joussaume Luc Gaite, Vincent Ruffin and Patrick Sanitas were warmly received well by the municipality of city Eyüp (pending twinning with that of Rochefort) . They have been treated with onions in the city that inspires the most: "Stanbul" .

As part of the event so the theme " Artistanbul on the trail of Pierre Loti , each artist painted a large canvas representing the city of Istanbul diving into the Golden Horn, live and open to from the Pierre Loti cafe located on the hill of the same name. They also created a work group in collaboration with their five Turkish counterparts, the involvement of a primary school in Eyüp and the public at the time. The fifteen pieces in total and the wall are now part of a traveling exhibition which is also coming to the region during 2011. Franco-Turkish relations are going well on the cultural thanks to Pierre Loti who is literally a great bridge between the two nations. Many projects of all kinds (music, literature, heritage, art, economics and others) are on the table in discussions with various stakeholders.
